About the Lowe
The Lowe Family Page started in early 1990s when I (Sarah Lowe Dees) wanted to start a family website to help family keep in touch and learn more about their family. In today’s day and age, it’s easy. There is Facebook and many other social sites. When this first started, I think MySpace was the big thing. Even texting was new. Not knowing much more than the typical person back then, I talked my brother Richard into helping me start setting up the Lowe Family Page. Richard, knowing way more than I did about website building and having a love of computers, of course was very willing to help.
So in the summer of 1986 we began. Richard and I laid out what we wanted and soon the first few pages were complete. From there I continued to add more and learn more. Soon I was handling the site mostly on my own with help from Richard off and on.
Richard passed away in 1999 and now I continue the site on my own. (Well now-a-day my daughter Jennifer does help with editing and few other things. Including encouragement to keep it going.)
The site has changed and grown through the years and with the help of contributions from our family’s input, stories, genealogy, photos, reunion information, and more. Along with those who visit the site it will continue to grow just as a family does.
The Lowe Family Page will always continue to be a learning process for me. But one that is a love for family and sharing memories. This is very much so a work in progress, updating as new information comes in, hopefully from lots of other family members too.
This site may be of some interest for posterity and for updates to some of our family’s comings and goings. Come back often and contribute if you wish.
I dedicate this site to my brother Elden Richard Lowe.
